Register for the 2027 Student AI Hackathon
The 2027 Student AI Hackathon is a fully funded 5-week programme (February to March 2027). Teams of 5 students in Years 12–13 use AI on AWS to solve real challenges facing UK public services and communities.
Teachers and staff: register your school or college to take part.
Students: register your interest and nominate your school or college.
There is no cost to take part. We want the hackathon to reflect the whole of the UK: everyone is welcome, and we especially encourage students from groups underrepresented in tech. It takes about 3 minutes.
Key rules: one team of 5 students per school or college. Students must be in Year 12 or Year 13 (or 1st/2nd year of post-16 study at college). Teams may mix both years. Participation is fully funded. Everyone is welcome, with a focus on groups underrepresented in tech — this never affects eligibility.
